Accounting for around 4% of Japan's total industrial output, Hyogo ranks as one of the leading industrialized prefecture. In terms of output, the tertiary sector (services) accounts for around 66.1%, secondary industries (manufacturing) for 36.6%, and the primary sector (agriculture-fishery-forestry) for 0.8%. Hyogo Prefecture has various economic activities, including heavy industry, steel, transportation equipment, food products, chemical, and fashion.
